But I finally went to the Dr. today (after having an annoying cough for about three weeks) and he told me he is pretty sure I have bronchitis. BLAH! He also told me I shouldn’t do any strenuous exercise for a few days and to stay inside because my allergies have been aggravated lately too. Just when I get back into doing the Couch 2 5K, and actually enjoying it, he tells me I can’t do strenuous exercise! I know that I need to take it easy and get better because I can’t really afford to miss any school, and I can get back to exercising soon, but it’s just frustrating. My plan now is to get back at it on Monday. AND he gave me a cortisone shot that he said will make me retain water, so he said “if you’re a scale watcher you may not want to step on the scale for a few days” BLAH BLAH BLAH! Just what I needed to hear! Oh well, I guess all I can do is take my medicine and get over this so I can get back to normal. The plus side is, hopefully, I’ll actually sleep all night and not wake up multiple times to cough up my lungs. Espcially since he gave me some cough medicine with codeine in it to help me sleep! Woohoo looking forward to a good nights sleep.
I did have a happy moment yesterday. I went shopping for my bday because I need a dress for my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary/vow renewal and I got a dress with a single letter size! No X in front of my L!! I’m super excited about it and I really want to wear it to school tomorrow, but I guess I’ll wait and wear it to the renewal. Here’s a picture of it:
I just love it!
Last I wanted to share some inspiration because I know we could all use it!
It’s NEVER too late so get started tomorrow, even if it’s just walking more during the day and adding some light weights. You won’t bulk up with weights! Give it a try, you won’t regret it!
Here’s to turning 35!! 🙂 It’s been a pretty good day, even though I’ve decided that it’s finally time to listen to my body and take a few days off of working out. I ran/walked on the treadmill yesterday and my cough (that I’ve had for about 3 weeks) got really bad afterwards. I’ve been pushing through it the past couple of weeks, thinking that it would go away, but today I finally convinced myself that it’s time to go to the Dr. so I’ve made an appointment for tomorrow afternoon, and then I’ll find out if it’s okay for me to start working out again. I hate to miss any days of exercise, but sometimes it’s just gotta be that way. I can’t afford to be sick and miss any school, especially since it just started. Hopefully it won’t be anything, and I’ll get some medicine and feel better pretty quick so I can get back to working out and my C25K training.
I am excited that I applied to be a Sweat Pink Ambassador! I hope that if I get chosen to be one, I’ll be able to motivate some other people to get up and get moving, even if it’s just a few minutes a day, any little bit is better than sitting on the couch all day. That’s the whole point of this blog, to inspire and motivate! I know that’s what helps me, seeing other people who have done it, or are still working on it. I do get frustrated sometimes because I’m not losing as fast as I’d like to, but I definitely want to do this the healthy way so that I don’t gain it all back. We’re all in this together, if anyone ever needs encouragement from me feel free to contact me. Check out my facebook page – Working on My Fit and give it a “like”!
I won AGAIN! This time it was from Peace, Love and Low Carb and Marika Fitness and it’s a pair of pants from the Marika Fitness Fit Expert Line! I can’t wait to get them in and let you all know what I think of them. It was a great birthday surprise for me. Oh yeah, I turned 35 today and my family took me to a local restaurant for breakfast. I didn’t eat well, but I will work it off this afternoon.
Go “like” Peace, Love and Low Carb’s Facebook page, and Marika Fitness’ Facebook page and let them know that Stacy from Working on my Fit sent you! Have a fantastic day y’all!
With the couch to 5K, but this time I did it on a treadmill and it went a lot better than the last time I started it. I’m actually looking forward to doing it again. I had some pains in my legs when I first started (I guess like shin splints, I’ve never had them before so I don’t know for sure), but they went away eventually and I felt really good when I finished. On day two of my personal plank challenge and today’s plank time was 1 minute 30 seconds, up 3 seconds from yesterday. Can’t wait to see where I am by the end of September. I’m also starting this challenge on September 1st.
Who’s with me? In 100 days we will have done 5050 burpees!!
Today was my second day of school, and my first LONG day of lecture. We are learning all about psychiatric nursing and I think it’s all going to be REALLY interesting. Can’t wait to get further into the semester and really start learning again.
I don’t have kids, so it was my first day of school. I’m in my second/last year of nursing school. It was great to get back and see all of my nursing buddies! I got back to the gym today too. I did two 30 minute interval workouts on the treadmill and did the weight circuit that they have set up, two times through. For some reason I’m self conscious about running on the treadmills with other people around, I’m always afraid I’ll be too loud or something, one of these times I will give it a try though. I’m excited to get back into my gym routine again, another good thing about getting back to school. I did pretty good on my eating this weekend, but didn’t do so great on the exercising, actually didn’t exercise at all. I can’t go back and change it, so I just got back at it today. I decided today, I’m going to do a plank every day and see how my time improves over the next few weeks. So day one plank time was 1 minute 27 seconds, and it’s the longest I’ve ever held a plank (I think). I hope you all are having a fantastic Monday!
I haven’t worked out yet today. Not feeling great is making it hard for me to find the motivation I need to get up and move. I’ve had a cough for two weeks now and it doesn’t seem to be going away. Hopefully, it’ll start going away soon so I don’t have to end up going to the doctor. I avoid that for as long as I can! I also didn’t work out yesterday, I decided that would be my rest day, so I really need to do something today!
I start my second/last year of nursing school tomorrow! I’m excited to see my nursing buddies, but not excited for the stress of tests, clinicals/clinical paperwork, tests, check-offs, tests etc. I know I’ll get through it, but it sure has been an awesome summer full of no stress and being able to concentrate on my fitness! I’ll definitely be using my workouts as a stress reliever this semester. One good thing about going back to school is it gets me to the gym more, since my gym is on the way home from school and I haven’t gone too much this summer because of the price of gas and the fact that I have to borrow a vehicle to get there. I’m going to start over with the Couch to 5K, on a treadmill at the gym because running here is full of hills and being a new runner I need it to be a little bit easier at first so I’ll stick to it. It’s not an excuse, it’s just I know myself and I won’t stick to it at first if it’s too hard. I need to work up to running the hills here.
I actually WON something yesterday and I’m super excited to get it! It’s from Tina Steinberg and it’s beautiful! Check her webpage out and her Facebook page if you want to try to win something too! Here’s what I won:
It says “your love is my shelter”.
I finally ordered my first Sweaty Band yesterday. I’m excited to get it in also because I always have hair falling down in my face while I’m working and they are supposed to not slip. I’ll let ya know what I think when I get it.
I have a new favorite sandwich! It’s whole wheat bread with natural peanut butter, a little honey drizzled on the peanut butter and some cinnamon sprinkled on top of the honey and peanut butter! It’s SO good!!
I didn’t go to bootcamp this morning 😦 and I have no good excuse except I woke up with a really bad headache and decided to let myself go back to sleep in hopes that it would go away (it didn’t) and I ended up having to take some Excedrin Migraine to make it go away. Once I felt better I decided to go for a walk.
Walked for an hour!!
It was HOT!!
Couldn’t even smile for the picture!
And afterwards this was my snack.
Post workout snack.
What is in my blender bottle!
I had a surprise from my hubby this morning. He’s decided he wants to start eating healthy! Shock of the day! He wants to try to do Weight Watchers with me. We’ll see how that goes. First I have to get him to give up the soda that he drinks every day! More on how that goes later. Fingers crossed!
Also, I’m going to be a brand ambassador for Brighter Fire Apparel www.brighterfire.com! I’m really excited about it because I love the messages that they put on their shirts! If you check out their page and decide to order be sure to email them at firstname.lastname@example.org and let them know that I’m your ambassador, be sure to include your order number and the date of your order!
That’s all I’ve got for now! Have a great Thursday!!
